African Union Communications in the country to work on ZNBC satellite
The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) has disclosed that engineers from the African Union Communications (AUC) are in the country to reposition the ZNBC uplink at Mass Media Complex, to a different satellite.
According to a press statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by the Director for Engineering Frank Mushota, the company responsible for the maintenance of the satellite distribution network on behalf of Multi Choice Africa will reposition the uplink to Intelsat 706.
Mr. Mushota added that viewers that used to access the ZNBC signal directly from Intelsat 4 will be informed on the new parameters once the adjustment has been made to enable them reset their satellite dishes.
He said viewers that directly depend on ZNBC transmitters will only be able to access the service after their engineers have adjusted the downlinks at the affected transmitting stations especially in the remote areas.
Mr. Mushota explained that the repositioning of the uplink to a different satellite by the engineers from AUC is expected to take one day but stressed that the entire exercise might take a while as it involves traveling to all the affected transmitter sites across the country.
He however assured viewers that they will be able to access ZNBC TV on the Multi Choice bouquet immediately the works are done.
