Increase funding to Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia National Union of Industrial and Commercials tells government

Union President Seth Paradza says in interview with Flava Fm News that there is need for government to increase its current monthly grant of K1.8 billion meant for workers salaries to at least K2.5 billion so that the company can slowly offset some of its debt.
Mr. Paradza who complained that the government promised to do feasibility study on the plant last year but has done nothing, urged government to increase the grant as it was still finding a lasting solution on the plant.
Mr. Paradza explained that at moment, the company owes retirees K13 billion, of which K3 billion is interest for 130 retirees who were not paid last year while the remaining K10 billion is for 30 recent retirees.
He pointed out that although NCZ workers appreciate that government has continued to give grants for salaries, there was need to pay off people who retired from the fertilizer producing company.
