RB and First Lady Arrive in Mfuwe from South Africa to Mourn Milanzi MP
President Rupiah Banda has arrived in Eastern Province to attend the burial of Milanzi MP Reuben Banda who died in Lusaka on Friday last week.
President Banda who is accompanied by First Lady Thandiwe Banda arrived at Mfuwe International Airport at 13:40 hours from South Africa.
The President was in Ethiopia where he attended the African Union Summit before flying to South Africa for medical checkup.
Mr. Banda described the passing on of Mr. Banda was a great loss to the nation because he was a humble and dedicated worker.
He urged MMD members in the province to remain united as they mourn the late MP who died at University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka following injuries sustained during a road traffic accident.
President Banda cautioned MPs to drive with care as many lives have been lost in the recent past due to road traffic accidents in the country.
Meanwhile, President Rupiah Banda has arrived in Chipata to attend the burial of late Milanzi MP Reuben Banda.
Mr. Banda was welcomed by MMD National Secretary Katele Kalumba, Home Affairs Minister Lameck Mangani, Eastern [Province Minister Isaac Banda, senior government officials and MMD Party cadres.
The late Mr. Banda would be put to rest at his village in Milanzi Constituency in Chief Kawaza%u2019s chiefdom in Katete District tomorrow
