Lusaka, February 25, ZANIS
The US. Embassy Public Relation Officer Priscilla Hernandez says the embassy has released a new web based non immigrant visa (NIJ) application form number DS-160.
Ms. Hernandez says the new application incorporates all existing NIV applications into one interactive online form.
Ms. Hernandez says the DS-160 will become available to visa applicants in Zambia on March 1st 2010 and will be required for all visa applicants as of April 30, 2010.
This is contained in a Press Statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
She said that the new DS-160 form improves the likelihood of collecting required information accurately the first time, saying applicants the trouble of having to return to the United States Embassy for successive interviews because information they entered into the non-immigrant visa application form was incomplete or inaccurate.
Ms.Hernandez explained that the form is web based because applicants can save it for future use.
She noted that the new form should be accompanied with complete instructions and frequently asked questions will be available on the visas page of the US Embassy website from March 1st, 2010.
