Opposition National Revolution Party (NRP) has reiterated that president Rupiah Banda should relieve local government and housing minister Benny Tetamashimba of his duties on medical grounds.
Speaking to Flava FM news NRP president Cosmo Mumba said president Banda should emulate the late president Levy Mwanawasa who relived Mr. Mundia Sikatana on health grounds.
Dr Mumba said government does not lack leaders for president Banda to continue keeping ministers who are experiencing health problems.
And Dr Mumba has condemned government‘s directive to councils countrywide to charge not more than three hundred thousand kwacha for the use of hearses.
He said the hearses were bought using tax payers money hence Zambians should not be subjected to a charge.
He said government bought the hearses with the view of alleviating the sufferings of the Zambians when burying their loved ones, but wondered why government should impose a charge on the poor Zambians.
Dr Mumba has since appealed to the ministry of local government and housing to rescind its decision and help the Zambian populace.
